| Hose bib on the outside of Wilson Library |
The cold pipe from the hose bib on the outside of the building froze a pipe inside a wall. Water leaked out into the hallway outside of Wilson Library by a drinking fountain. It also leaked into room 65L and the Ames Library below.

When the leak was discovered, librarians rapidly covered the books below in the Ames Library and prevented water damage.

FM Haz Mat responded to the event on the same day and cleaned the affected area of any affected asbestos containing material on the affected ceiling tiles. On Feb. 4, 2019 the Ames library was cleared for patron use.
