MCRB Bldg#143 pink liquid leak July 31, 2013

Approx. 15:10  DEHS was called about a pink liquid leak in MCRB Bldg #143 .

Neil Carlson DEHS contacted Sam Shrader 608- 792-4991 who was with Cheryl Miller AHC bldg management.

The pink color to the liquid was due to the addition of a rust inhibitor.

FM custodial also responded.

Water from a draining incubator leaked out onto the floor in room 725 MCRB and in the hallway..  A hose from the incubator was placed in the cup sink of a fume hood.  Two diameters of tubing were used.  They became disconnected when the area was briefly left unattended.

The pH of the liquid was 7 as measured by Neil Carlson DEHS.  Custodians were OK'd to clean up the spill.

DEHS will follow up with a moisture meter check on the 7th floor am of August 1, 2013.
