Water event 717 Delaware Building Mechanical space and floors below March 17, 2018

A chiller leak was reported on March 17, 2018 at 19:21. Damage affected a few rooms below the mechanical space starting at about 18:00. The source of the leak was not certain.

Areas of additional water damage were marked for attention on the morning of March 19. 2018.

Notes from Kaitlyn Hendrickson: Upon further investigation and a report from the Hawkinson lab, there was additional water staining in rooms 519B and 519F. Fortunately, we were able to address these spaces while DEHS was out doing the inspection. 

After meeting with DEHS, the following steps will be taken to address the water leak from 3/17: 

1. Facilities Management will refinish the floors in the lab spaces (519B, 519F, and 519K) in order to remove rust stains. 
2. FM will work to clea​n the carpet in 414, if rust staining does not come up, they will work to replace the carpet. 
3. Labs will work to clean the surfaces that were affected in their respective areas and will work to catalog any damaged items.
4. Small sections of baseboard were removed, once dried out FM will replace them.
