0254 Hasselmo Hall Building #178 - Sprinkler release into electrical vault in B-270. MFD and UMPD responded.
According to Karen Collins, FM at least a portion of the building was without power for approximately 1.5 hours. RBMS was notified.
0447 Sgt. Maciejewski paged AHERPs to notify us of the water event.
The sprinkler system for the room is wet. A sprinkler head released above the north section of the room. At this time it is not know if the heater on the northwest section of the room was on. At this time, there is also no evidence of a fire.
0750 - 0815 Neil Carlson and Mike Buck responded separately to evaluate the area.
The two generators in the room are being checked to determine if they are operational.
Background: Mike Buck, DEHS has responded to this location several times in the past. The dampers for combustion air along the west the wall often do not close tight. If the pressure differential happens to be negative the cold air flows into the room and can freeze the pipes.
Recommendation: FM work with CPPM and building codes to improve temperature control in space and determine why there was water in the dry sprinkler system.
