MTRF update 7/2/2018

Sink on fourth floor origin of water leak
Neil C., Elizabeth H. Darryl L., and Maddie from RBMS toured the areas of water damage on 2nd through the 4th floor of MTRF on the morning of July 2, 2018.  At the end of the discussion Elizabeth suggested that a restrictive flow head on the sink could prevent future water events if the discharge volume does not exceed the capacity of the drain. Darryl L. and Maddie will follow up with FM. This should be done building wide.

Many of the inspected wall cavities were dry.  Those that were not were marked for further drying and they will be checked on the morning of July 3, 2018.  Wall removal has not started on some sections to allow for egress in areas where both sides of a hallway were affected. The dry interior portions of the walls will be painted with an antimicrobial paint to mitigate the possibility of future fungal growth.

One area of fungal growth was identified inside the containment on the second floor utility chase near room 2-444. It is likely that the growth at this location was pre-existing due to the significant number of insect fecal pellets.
