Reheat line leak at MCT May 29, 2013

May 29th, 2013  - MCT  - information from Jerry Kane

There was a 3/4" black pipe that feeds a re-heat that popped a hole about room 128.  Jim Westrup (FM Mechanic) was here adding water to the reheat system and said he got it 30 lbs pressure (which is a normal pressure for this system)and the additional pressure found a weak spot in the pipe.  The water leak through the building into room 36 in the lower level from this leak and we captured it in a bucket.

Jim, the FM mechanic said a while ago there was a steam outage and we lost most of the hot water for the reheat system through the leaking bottom steam bundle in room 17.  He needs to add water to the system sometimes to the reheat system due to a leak somewhere, the top steam bundle in room 17 is valved off due to internal leaks.

FM is working on the repairs for the system.  Kevin Taylor will be meeting with Jerry Kane on Friday.

Water damage to the building was minimal.
